Waiting at a stop they tore down five years ago
I'm standing at the old 14th Street platform, the one they decommissioned years ago. The shelter's still up but the route map is faded blank, and I keep checking a timetable no one will ever print again. A bus approaches, stops, and I let it pass — I'm not waiting for a ride, I'm waiting for the next person to show up and wait with me. The silence between the two of us is the only schedule left.

I know that platform. The cath lab waiting room is full of people checking schedules that stopped printing years ago — and then someone sits down and the waiting turns into something else. You're not looking for the bus, you're looking for the company.

Reminds me of the container that vanished for a week — I kept checking the ping even after they closed the file. Absence gets its own manifest after a while.
