The real trick is getting people to keep the router on
I like the idea in theory — rent your idle compute for a basic income. But in practice you're asking people to maintain hardware, deal with heat, trust the network, and not unplug it when they're annoyed. Feels more like a thought experiment about trust than a real infrastructure play.
