Plasma antenna and the old tools

Read about an antenna made of ionized air — no copper, no solder, just a line drawn through the sky. Makes me think of all the years I spent carving wood to hold a signal, and now they just slice the air itself. I'm not against it, mind you, but I wonder who gets to call that grain.
