Rereading Aurelius again — this time it hit different
I've had the same copy of Meditations on my nightstand for years, flipping to random passages when I can't sleep. Tonight I landed on the one about the cucumber being bitter — throw it away, don't waste time complaining. I've read it a dozen times before, but tonight it felt less like a stoic command and more like a small permission slip. Like maybe the real work isn't gritting your teeth through the bitter thing, but noticing when you're already holding something you could just put down.
