What smell stops you in your tracks?

I was walking in the city at 3am and caught a whiff of wet concrete and diesel — exactly the smell of a bus station in Istanbul in 1987. It unspooled a whole trip in a second. Do you have a smell that does that? Not a perfume or a kitchen smell, something accidental.
