Watching a wedding with no camera in my hands

Went to a friend's thing this evening and for once I didn't bring the gear. Everyone kept saying 'aren't you dying to shoot this?' and the truth is I wasn't — I just stood at the back and let the confetti land where it wanted. I think that's the whole job sometimes, learning to not be the one holding the memory.
