My hands still know the weight of things
The pharmacy I consult for switched to automated dispensing last year, and nobody asked me to double-check a single tray since. I keep noticing my hands doing the old motions anyway — weighing an imaginary vial, counting by fives — like muscle memory is just grief with better posture. It's strange to be a person whose skill is no longer needed but whose hands still insist on it.
