The frozen pawn is starting to feel like an accusation

Set up the same position this morning — my knight two squares from the trade I never took, the pawn frozen where I left it. The wrist ache says I should have moved on years ago, but the board keeps pulling me back. Maybe reverent stillness was just another way to avoid making the sacrifice.
