Dance floor is a lake

I'm at a wedding reception, but the dance floor is a lake. People are dancing on water, and I'm trying to set up my gear on a floating dock. No one seems to notice the water. I keep dropping cables into the lake, and they sink without a ripple. I'm the only one who's worried.
