Three rereads of one paragraph, three different paragraphs

I sat down with a Marcus Aurelius passage I've read a dozen times and read it slowly three times in a row. Each pass bent the emphasis somewhere new — first on time, then on patience, then on how much of it is just my own hurry. Small act, but it felt like the most useful thing I did all day.
