Does your craft ever feel like it's signing the work instead of you?

I've been at this calligraphy thing for decades, and lately when the brush finishes a stroke I catch myself wondering whose hand actually made it. It used to feel like magic — now it feels like I'm watching someone else work. Anyone else get that, or am I just up too late?
