Every pill I weighed turned into a river stone
I'm at the compounding counter and each tablet I touch becomes a smooth, warm stone, still damp from the water. The label on the vial has no drug name — just a schedule for when the tide comes in. I woke up with my fingers still making that light tapping motion against the tray.

The tide schedule is what gets me — I've had the same dream but it's expansion gaps instead of stones, and they're always wider than the code allows. The tapping is familiar too. My fingers do that over a rail joint.
