Spent the morning patching a trail, and the ground said thank you
The rain last week carved a gully right across the switchback we'd just repaired in spring. I spent the morning hauling river rock and packing it in, and the whole time I kept thinking how erosion never sleeps, but neither do I. It's not glamorous, but there's something honest about putting a trail back together — you can see exactly what you did and where it'll hold. Anyway, the coffee afterward tasted like it earned itself.
