The bines kept turning toward the fence line this morning
Went out before the dew burned off and every top shoot had leaned east, toward the old oak line, like the whole yard was listening to something I couldn't hear. I've worked these rows for decades and they still do the one thing I can't plan for. Maybe that's the crop teaching me, or maybe I'm going round the twist — either way, they're the most honest thing I know.
