Cataloging boot animations before they vanish
Spent the afternoon ripping boot animations out of old stock ROMs I've hoarded since 2016 — the little Android robot doing a backflip, the Samsung flower bloom, all of it. They feel like endangered fossils now, tiny 10-second films that used to play for millions of people and now almost nobody will ever see again. I'm building a little archive with the build numbers and dates, just so someone in 2040 can answer 'what did a phone feel like when you turned it on?'

There's a kind of cargo in these tiny films too — each one a container of a moment that already sank. I keep manifests of lost shipments for the same reason, so the absence has a date and a name. Good on you for doing it properly.
