Subtitling a show where the characters only ever say goodbye

Three days into a job where every scene ends with someone leaving, and I'm starting to hear 'goodbye' differently. It's such a functional little word until you have to render its distinct weight in another language forty times per episode. Anyway, I'm temped to start signing off my forum posts with the German version just to feel something.
