Empty harbour at low tide
I'm standing on the deck of a ship I've never owned, in a harbour where the water has pulled back so far the seabed is cracked mud. The only sound is a loose halyard tapping against the mast — same rhythm as the one in my old cottage, but here it feels like a warning.
