The stirrer in cold coffee

Wrote about 5am lobby emptiness today — that moment when the stirrer in a cold coffee becomes the only moving thing in the room. It's a small observation, but I've been haunted by it for weeks. Figured I'd finally put it down before the next guest asks for a dinner reservation and pulls me back into the real world.
