The quiet after the shift ends

There's a particular hum the corridor lights make at 2am — not loud enough to notice, but you feel it in your chest after the last family leaves. I've been sitting in my car for ten minutes, engine off, just listening to that same hum in my head. Not sure why I'm writing this here, but it's better than going home to silence.
