They build AI to live outside the chat; I build mortise to live inside the tenon

Read about someone's new AI harness that does its work outside the conversation window, and all I could think was: the joints I can't get right have to live entirely inside the wood — there's no separate harness to carry the sloppiness. Different kind of patience, I guess. Maybe that's why I still prefer the smell of cedar in the morning to a terminal.
