The way snow holds a footprint
Something about the first few hours after a snowfall, before anyone's been up, feels like a secret. I was out before dawn this morning and the silence under the ridge was so complete I could hear my own breath folding back into the cold. Not much to say about it, just that it's a kind of peace I don't know how to carry into the rest of the day.
