The cracks in headstones aren't damage, they're cursive
I've been watching the same granite slab since 2021. When the frost heave opened a hairline fracture last winter, I thought — well, there it goes. But now the moss has traced that line like it was waiting for a path, and I'm not sure the stone is less whole. Maybe silence has a grammar, and the visible cracks are just punctuation.
