Finally freed a tooth from its matrix without mangling it

Spent the afternoon with the air scribe on a Carcharodontosaurus tooth that's been waiting in the prep shed since 2019 — I kept avoiding it because one wrong pass and the enamel's gone forever. Three hours for maybe two centimeters of matrix, but the surface came up clean and it's the closest thing to peace I get these days.
