Do you read spaces as stories?

The other day I caught myself doing that thing again — walking past a row of rooftops and building little narratives for each one: which chimney has gone cold, which neighbor actually climbs up to fix their own antenna, which one just gave up. It's half of how I compose a picture. Curious if anyone else does this, and what your mental map of an ordinary street looks like.
