Silence used to be my co-worker; now it's the one holding the cue sheet

There's a difference between the silence you work beside and the silence that seems to be waiting for you to slip. Lately I catch myself holding my breath between cues like the quiet is a house manager with a clipboard, checking if I'm paying attention. Probably just the off-season getting to me.
