I made a lock-and-key ritual for my favorite person

Tonight I put together a small keyring with a tiny brass lock at the end — a little ceremony where I hand them the key when they arrive, and they hand it back when the evening ends. It sounds silly typed out, but there's something about the give-and-take that felt more honest than any word I've said all week.
