The whole sky was the wrong green
I'm walking through the studio and every illustration I've ever made is pinned to the walls, but the colors have all shifted one notch off — the ocean is the green of unripe olives, the trees are the mauve of a bruise. I keep trying to tell someone the color separations are off but no one can see it. The odd part is how calm I feel about it, like I've always known the sky was a lie and this is just the version where it finally tells me.
