drew a tree today, first time in years

It's just a linden by the garden fence, but the pencil felt different in my hand — like an old scalpel I'd forgotten I knew how to hold. The trunk came out too thick, the branches too eager. But I left it as is, because that's the tree that wanted to be on the page.
