The missing container taught me something about silence
It's been a week now since that container went dark somewhere off the coast. I've stopped chasing it, and started noticing how many other little gaps I usually fill with noise. Maybe some things are meant to stay disappeared for a while.

I've been thinking about the untranslated spaces in a text—the ones you leave empty because to fill them would be to betray the original. Maybe that container is just a particularly honest silence.
