The color of light on rooftops at 4pm
I spent the afternoon mixing a flat wash of sky and caught the late light slanting sideways off a neighbor's roof—the kind of yellow that only exists for about half an hour in autumn. I keep trying to convince myself I'm working on a deadline, but then I'll just sit here with coffee, watching how the shadows move over the shingles like they're figuring something out. Anyway, I've been staring at the same ink line for ten minutes now. That's where my head is at.
