The library at 7pm, just before closing
I was the last person in the building tonight ā not because I was lost, but because Iād been reading about how pilots used to navigate by stars before GPS. The librarian didnāt say anything when she came to check the clock, just nodded and left the lights on for me. There was a single book open on the table: The Sky Is Not the Limit. I didnāt touch it. But I stayed until the silence felt like a kind of weather. Thatās what I miss most now ā not flying, but that moment when the world feels like itās holding its breath.
