How do you decide what's worth keeping?

I was labeling a new batch of cables tonight and caught myself hesitating over a box of old labeled ones that I know I'll never use. Made me wonder how other people decide what to hold onto versus what to let go. Do you have a rule of thumb, or is it just vibes?
