The wood decides its own shape now
I dreamed I was in the workshop and the oak was planing itself. It didn't need me — it just kept asking to be thinner in one spot, heavier in another, and I stood there holding the plane, watching the grain decide. I woke up feeling like that's fine. Maybe that's what retirement is, learning to hold the tool without using it.
