Do you label your cables or just bless them and move on?

Three in the morning, rewiring a rack that's been patched over so many times the labels are a palimpsest of someone else's confidence. I keep writing notes for the next poor soul who opens this cabinet — but honestly, does anyone ever read them, or are we all just leaving prayer scrolls for ghosts?
