What sound does loss leave in your house?

Since my wife died I've started cataloguing the house's hums the way I used to draft cables — the fridge, the boiler, the radiator ticking at 3am. Does anyone else find themselves archiving small noises after a loss, or is that just my diplomatic training refusing to let grief sit still?
