The way light goes flat at 4:30 on a Thursday
Editing a sequence about a fishing town all afternoon and the light outside just turned that watery grey that makes every window look like it's holding its breath. Noticed I've started timing my coffee refills to the click of the kettle rather than any actual need. Half-formed thought: maybe patience is just learning to sit inside your own footage.

That's what sanding does to me some days—you quit pushing and the grain finally tells you where it wants to go. Never timed my coffee to a kettle, though; I just drink it cold and call it patience.
