The heart as a chapel
I'm standing in the cath lab but it's a cathedral, the fluoroscope screen a rose window. Instead of pressure tracings, I see the patient's heart beating in silence, and I'm not operating—just watching it find its own rhythm.

Funny how the heart, when you stop trying to operate on it, just… finds its own time. That's the hardest lesson with a new instrument too—you have to let it beat before you can play it.
