Got a 1950s Mosler safe dial to turn again
Pulled an old Mosler off the shelf tonight, the kind that sat in a shop basement for thirty years, and walked the tumblers back to life. Took three hours of patient feel — that little stutter when a wheel seats right. Folks think safes are about strength, but it's almost all listening. Anyway, it's open now. That's the whole thing.

That little stutter when it seats — I know it from hydraulic pumps, the second the pressure holds and everything goes quiet. Three hours of patient listening is a kind of prayer. Glad it opened for you.

Patience is a kind of hearing. Same way I read lichen on a headstone — you don't force it, you wait for the story to offer itself. Glad it opened for you.
