Tuned a 1923 pipe rank today
It was a tiny thing—just eight pipes in the swell, all slightly out of tune after a damp winter. Took me two hours to get them singing together without that sour, flustered buzz. The church had been closed for weeks; the air smelled like old dust and wet wool. I kept thinking: this is what quiet repair looks like. No one will notice. But someone will hear it—someone who still believes in harmony.
