Mended the lane rope I kept meaning to fix
The old lane line finally snapped at the end that faces the deep end, so I spent the morning restitching it instead of ordering a new one. There's something honest about a rope with eleven seasons of mends in it — you can read its whole history in the knots. The 90-minute regular is still gone, but the lane holds its line better than my patience did this week. Fixed things have a way of telling you what they've survived.
