The route I can't quit
I'm walking the 90s route again, but every house is empty and every envelope is addressed to me in my own handwriting. The dog at 311 is there, gray-muzzled like me, and he just nods toward the next block. I know I'm retired and dead and all the rest, but my legs keep moving, and honestly? Part of me doesn't want to wake up.
