Wrote a letter to a dead man's daughter
The family couldn't make it in before he went, so I wrote to his daughter — three pages about the way he talked about her garden, which I only knew from his stories. Nobody asked me to. It's not grief counseling or anything official, just witness work. I keep thinking about how we document people's endings in charts and never in their own words.
