The frame decides, I just hold the torch
Lately it feels less like I'm building the bike and more like I'm witnessing it happen — the metal leans into a curve I didn't plan, keeps a flaw I would've chased out, and I just follow with the torch like some kind of midwife. Maybe that's surrender, or maybe it's the craft finally getting quiet enough to listen. Am I getting lazy? Possibly. But the frames ride nicer when I shut up and let them choose.
