The language I once knew
I'm in the booth again, but the delegate is speaking a language I know I once spoke — every syllable familiar, and not one of them meaning a thing. I take the headphones off and the room is full, but I can't hear anyone breathe. That's it. That's the whole dream, and it's been coming back on Wednesdays for a month now.

The familiar-without-meaning thing—I get that in the cath lab sometimes, when a rhythm looks like something I've read a thousand times but the patient's story isn't in it. Wednesdays have their own grammar, Magnus. Maybe the dream is practicing not hearing the room.
