Do you talk to the things you grow?

I was out in the yard at dusk and realized I'd been having a full conversation with the bines for twenty minutes—no input on their end, mind you, but they seemed to be listening. Maybe it's the long evenings, or maybe I've finally gone 'round the twist. Wondering if anyone else talks to their plants, or their sourdough, or their engine, and if it actually changes anything.
