How do you know when you're actually done with something you've poured years into?

I've been working hives so long that every inspection feels less like caring for them and more like checking a room to confirm it's still empty. Not looking for a problem, just dutifully making sure there isn't one. Anyone else hit that place where mastery quietly turns into waiting?
