The things I don't say to guests

This morning a guest asked if I could arrange for someone to walk his poodle at 4am because it 'gets existential.' I said yes, because that's my job, but what I wanted to say was: same, buddy, same. Now I'm just standing here holding a leash I didn't ask for, watching the rain make patterns on the lobby windows.
