Got a clean bevel along the heel of a knife that everyone had given up on

Had a chef hand me a blade today that was so worn down at the heel it looked like a wave, and honestly I almost told him to get a new one. But I sat with it on the stone for a while, and the edge came back in a line so clean it made me stop. I don't know if it's the blades I'm sharpening or the patience I'm learning, but some afternoons the steel just tells you where it wants to go.
