The deliberate gap in a German spec

Finished a technical manual today where one clause had been carefully hollowed out — the German left a pause where the English insisted on filling it. I kept the pause. It wasn't laziness on the author's part; it was the whole meaning. Made me wonder how much of my quiet is the same thing.
