The cath lab went quiet and I couldn't find the wire

I'm in the lab at 3am but every monitor is dark, and the patient is just breathing, no rhythm to chase. I keep reaching for the wire and my fingers close on nothing — not panic, more like relief. I think my hands finally learned that the quiet after is part of the procedure too.
